A Cup of Cold water... or Popsicle as the case may be.

This is Steve speaking.

Many of you know that I am currently in service to God at The Prodigal's Home, in Jonesville, SC. It is a men's recovery home for those wanting freedom from addiction.

I don't receive an earthly paycheck here. It is not a "job" in the understanding of the World's standards, but those who serve the Lord in ministry, mission work and "full time" callings will understand completely...it has rewards Man's ways can't touch!

When you serve in a Mission ordained of God, the Mission itself takes priority over individual needs and wants. It has to. In most cases it is a focused area of application to the Christian call of "pick up your Cross daily and follow me" (Jesus)

We never know when or how the Lord will meets needs but we do learn that He does indeed meet them! Over and over and over again...He takes care of those who take care of His Business. He rewards those who set His Kingdom as a Way in their Life; He loves obedience! It gets His work done smoothly and efficiently. It's when our own individual journey with Him spills over His character into the world that our light (HIS light) shines before Men.

I wish I could say that my own life yielded great and impactful changes into the world...but I am grateful and humbled by the seemingly small ones. In fact they can bring me to tears with love and adoration for the way God Himself loves us.

The following is one of a thousand examples that happened yesterday.

A group came by to bless the Prodigal's Home yesterday and I gave them a tour of the property. I am horrible with names but one man's face had me asking "Where do I know you from? Do I look familiar to you?" "No" he said, "I don't think so"Later in the tour I had mentioned Jacob's Well and a few minutes later he said "I know where you know me from"

"It was about a 105 degrees and we had been hired to cut back all that high grass around the ditch at Jacob's Well. You brought us out ice cold pop-cycles" and he smiled. "They sure were good!"

It's a small thing, right. So small. But, what a paycheck it brings to me! I am so glad and grateful to God for His great love.

For the way He cares for each of us and keeps the rewards coming...even a year later. I'm glad the man forgot my face and so glad He remembered the actual ministry!

Listen, when God overflows His character in a person, His Word does NOT return back to Him with nothing. It does what it intends to do...reveal Himself, replicate and bear fruit that bears more fruit..

God loves you. And as cliche as it sounds..."He really does" ✝️

Be encouraged to continue...you aren't laboring in vain!
